In the light of day, beyond shame, a mob tortures and murders a young couple. Only a culture that has closed it’s heart to the humanity has no shame. It is the public manner of these brutal acts that measures the heart of the Pakistani people. And it seems that they not only want to clearly see their horrific acts in the light of day, they revel in them.

The manipulation of the western press in concealing the plight of Christians in the middle east, has more to do with politics of the news establishment than any other concern. When it comes to affecting the fate of millions there is a moral imperative to be an honest reporter of the facts. Obviously influence trumps the truth with the main stream media of this millennium..

The United States of America was going to engage in “degradation” with a terrorist group. Plug the kiddies ears but …What the fuck is committing violence upon a enemy, with the end goal not victory, but a “degradation of their capacity?” POTUS has quite a pair.

Prevailing upon his old tactic of political rope-a-dope, he is slow walking the ISIS crisis! By keeping our expectations low, lobbing a few bombs when each “ISIS crisis” erupts, he can slow walk this low intensity conflict right out of office. The new tenant can fix that little honey-do. “It’s not like it was a war or something. Duh!” said Mr. Rhetoric. “By then it will have shrunk to a footnote of history.” Then, a slow fade to forgotten history. Then nothing.

What might seem twisted brilliance is not so beguiling when it’s recognized as just a variation on a theme. In a collusive relationship with the media, Obama has been successful ignoring each crisis away throughout his administration! Time and the short attention span of the American public have served many politicians well.

No body bags for the evening news. .No American vets with hooks for hands. No victory. But no defeat. No defeat to be connected to Obama. Just a little low intensity brushfire for his successor to sort out. It is all for Barak Obama.

Charles Krauthammer submits that the POTUS could be attempting to force the congress to attempt an impeachment. If he should pass amnesty thru papal bull, it would bait a response from the congress. He knows he could make hay with a move to impeach him! The GOP could easily be made the bad guy should such punitive action be taken. Taken as a whole, the interview tends to ground the response to the election and direct GOP lawmakers to err on the side of ‘cagey’. The republicans need to get to work legislating successfully, or lose both ground gained for lawmakers NOW as well as the Whitehouse in ’16.

Saturday morning used to hold an almost sacred place among the pre-cable generation. I remember the cardboard displays of a vicious television eating our money in the Lobby of the “Rialto” movie theater. It was a warning about the terrible pay T.V. that was coming soon (cable). Many believed the movie industry was teetering on the cusp of demise at this development.

Cartoons were broadcast exclusively on Saturday morning and a little bit after school. I remember a kiddie show character, “Major Astro” playing toons every afternoon after school. He was a guy that hosted the afterschool kids show as an astronaut. He would wear a space suit and play just a few really terrible kids marionette shows and toons. It is interesting to note that ‘Astroboy’ was one of his regular entries. But more about that some other time. The best toons, the Warner Bros. Cartoons, originally made for theatrical release, were the best. They were broadcast only on Saturday morning. So here is some entertaining (and educational) stuff to watch. Try it! You’ll like it!

I gush when I talk of Condi Rice. I can’t help it. She has lived a life of superlatives in every endeavor. Secretary of state under Bush two, Professor at Stanford university, virtuoso musician etc., etc., With a commanding presence and gravitas of iron she held ground with the most historic personalities of our age.. I would vote for her as president in a New York minute. She has the rich red American blood that this anemic administration could use about now.
