I don’t remember when we stopped saying the pledge of allegiance, but I do recall saying the pledge at the beginning of each school day in grade school. We were lead in the pledge by Mrs Geise, a white haired old lady with no love in her heart for anyone.
Some fifty-six years later I heard the words wafting from my youngest daughters first hour class room. I was both shocked and gratified to hear the fateful words on so many young voices these days. With the political climate as fowl as it is now, one is as likely to hear how much America is hated as anything else.
